If President Goodluck Jonathan needed a giving mate, PDP did him a great service hiring Godswill Obot Akpabio.

Akpabio is the incumbent Governor of Akwa Ibom State. Akwa Ibom is arguably the richest of Nigerians States by her modus standi as the biggest oil producing State and the man at the helm of affairs is a charismatic "Giver".
Coming on the back of successful terms as Commissioner in the Obong Attah's Administration, Akpabio's first term in office witnessed tremendous human development across the State.

He engaged Youths to positions of authority in a plot to cause a shift from the traditional practice of hiring the oldies for sensitive official duties. Not only did he appoint them to offices, he would usually provide financial warchest to the tune of N10 million naira for marriages and child dedications.
Various developmental projects in State like the Ibom e-library are also supervised and prosecuted by youths. Whether they are pseudos and surrogates is left to be seen. But by lining Akpabio behind Jonathan, PDP looked beyond whittling down Amaechi's powers, far more to bringing a man who has no regard for money.
